Please be advised that Medical Clinic of Houston, L.L.P. continues to be an in-network provider for UnitedHealthcare (“UHC”).
More than likely, you have heard that Houston Methodist Hospital (“Methodist”) is no longer in-network with UHC (with the exception of Fort Bend Independent School District and Houston Methodist employees). While this is very concerning for all of us, please be aware that Medical Clinic of Houston is not part of the Methodist system nor are we contracted with UHC through Methodist.
MCH is an independent physician group and we are contracted with UHC directly. All services at MCH for UHC patients will continue to be considered “in-network.”
If you must be admitted to the hospital:
- Emergency room visits and emergency admissions to Methodist will be considered by UHC as “in-network.”
- All other admissions to Methodist will be considered out-of-network, which means that you may pay a higher co-insurance or deductible.
MCH is seeking an affiliation with a hospitalist group for handling our admissions to an alternate hospital.
