COVID-19 Safety

Your health and safety as well as that of our employees and physicians is of paramount importance. We are closely following the outbreak of COVID-19 in our community.

As primary care physicians, we have a responsibility to care for our patients, whether sick or well. At the same time, we have a responsibility to protect those who come to our office from exposure to symptomatic patients.

Screening all Patients and Visitors in the Lobby: If you have an appointment at Medical Clinic of Houston, please arrive a few minutes early and be prepared to be screened prior to entering the building and advancing to your appointment. This will include taking your temperature and issuing you a face mask which we will require that you wear throughout your time at MCH. You may keep the mask and re-use it.; they are washable. Additionally, please follow these instructions:

  • Limit the number of family members/visitors who accompany you to your visit to only one individual.
  • If you are having respiratory symptoms (cough, fever, shortness of breath), call your physician’s office prior to your appointment and see the additional information below.

As explained below, we will be seeing all patients with respiratory symptoms or suspected contagious disease in our Satellite Clinic so that patients scheduling appointments for annual physicals or follow-up on chronic medical problems can feel comfortable making and keeping their appointments.

Disinfecting Our Exam Rooms: We want to assure you that our staff cleans exam rooms between patients. All rooms, equipment, and surface areas that we are touching (counter-tops, doorknobs, exam chairs, computers, etc.) are disinfected.

UV Light Sanitizing: We hope you will also take comfort in knowing that the air conditioning system in our building was designed with UV lighting as a method to fight germs, mold and viruses. These UV lights are installed on every floor of the building and are on 24/7.

If You Have Respiratory Symptoms: If you have a cough, shortness of breath, fever or have been exposed to a COVID-positive patient, please call your physician’s office. Based on your symptoms and exposure history, your physician will determine where it is most appropriate for you to be seen.

Satellite Clinic for Symptomatic Patients: For the protection of you, other patients and our employees, Medical Clinic of Houston has set-up a Satellite Clinic for patients who exhibit symptoms of COVID-19, or who have been exposed to a COVID-positive patient. Patients scheduled to be seen in the Satellite Office will be seen by an MCH physician without compromising the safety of our employees and other patients. The Satellite Clinic has a completely separate entrance to the building, and a separate waiting area and set of exam rooms.

Instructions for Access to the Satellite Clinic: If you are scheduled to be seen in the Satellite Clinic, you can access the Satellite Clinic directly from the 4th floor of our parking garage. The Satellite Clinic has a completely separate entrance and waiting area. Open parking is available adjacent to the Satellite Clinic (garage level 4A) so you will be able to access the Satellite Clinic without the need to use an elevator, enter the Clinic’s main lobby, or use valet parking.

The Satellite Clinic is Not A Walk-In Clinic: Please do not report to the Satellite Clinic unless you are directed to do so by your physician’s office.
